Let’s Talk About Goat Manure

Goat manure is rich in nitrogen, which makes it an excellent soil conditioner. It improves soil texture which in turn provides a rich environment for roots to grow as well as allow for excellent water retention.

High Quality goat milk comes from happy free range goatsWhy not, right?  We spend considerable time on this site telling you about the benefits of goat milk products; and about goat milk products in the U.S., it is only fair that we go all the way and mention a product you may not have considered when you think about goats.

We are talking to all gardeners and farmers out there.

Goat manure is rich in nitrogen, which makes it an excellent soil conditioner.  It improves soil texture which in turn provides a rich environment for roots to grow as well as allow for excellent water retention.

It has considerably less odor than other manures, and it is much drier than other manures, meaning it is much-easier to spread and work with.  In the world of manure it really is a dream to work with while gardening.

Like most manure, goat manure should be composted before using as a soil supplement.  We suggest four to six months of composting before introducing it to the soil.  If you opt to use it before it is completely absorbed in the composting process, apply it to the soil a good 120 days before harvesting your produce.

You better believe we use it here at Mt.Capra Farms.  We’ve been using it for Ninety Years as a matter of fact, ninety years of Mt. Capra farming, and it is just one reason why our goats are so healthy, and healthy goats mean healthy goat milk products like our goat milk yogurt, our goat milk soap, and our goat milk probiotics.

It is all part of the Mt. Capra production cycle, a healthy farming cycle which ensures that what we offer the public for purchase is the very best we can produce.

That is our promise to you!
