We currently offer many different goat milk protein products to fit the varied needs of our customers. With so many options, customers often ask about the differences between the various protein powders and which one would be best for them. In this blog post, we will highlight the key features of our different powders, so that you can better equip yourself to choose the right one for you.
The main difference is the protein type – whether it is a whey or whole protein. From there, you just decide whether you want it flavored or unflavored and with or without added nutrients, like minerals or probiotics. For a quick visual comparison of all of our proteins, check out the Protein Comparison Chart below.

Whey vs. Whole
Whey protein has been a favorite of athletes for a long time. It digests quickly and, consequently, is quickly absorbed and utilized. This makes it great for rebuilding muscles after weight lifting or intense exercise. It is also high in branch chain amino acids, which are key amino acids for promoting muscle growth. Another benefit is that it is high in glutathione precursors. Glutathione is the body’s master antioxidant.
Whole goat milk protein is naturally 80% casein and 20% whey. Casein digests slower, helping to prevent muscle breakdown. With whole protein you have the best of both worlds, building muscle with whey while preserving the muscle you already have with casein. This makes it a good choice for those who want to maintain muscle mass while toning and those who are looking for a more generalized option for overall health.
Note: Most people who have a casein sensitivity are reacting to the Alpha S1 Casein protein that is prevalent in most cow’s milk. Goat milk mainly contains Alpha S2 casein (A2 milk) and is generally easier to digest and gentler on the stomach.
Whey Protein Products
Our most basic whey protein is our Goat Whey Protein Concentrate. It comes in two forms. One form is pure whey protein. The other is a vanilla flavor and uses stevia as a sweetener. This product is great for those who just want something to add to smoothies or mix in water, nut milk, or milk on the run. It is great for athletes and offers 24g of protein per serving.
Berry Whey contains whey protein isolate along with 33 blueberries, 12 aronia berries, Capra Mineral Whey, goat milk cream, and sunflower lecithin for healthy brain fats in the form of phospholipids. It includes Lakanto Monk Fruit as a sweetener. This product has 10g of protein per serving, a tasty berry flavor, and tons of antioxidants. The berries all come from local farmers in the Pacific Northwest. Within hours of picking, we dry the berries on our Refractance Window Dryer, which is a gentle drying method that ensures that the berries retain their nutritional value past the drying process.
Whole Protein Products
Our most basic whole protein is our Clean protein. It is just plain whole protein, no sweeteners, flavors, or anything else added. We do offer a Clean Protein with minerals and probiotics option, which is similar to our Deep 30 protein powders, without the flavors and sweeteners. We also offer a Clean Fermented Protein, which, like our Caprotein, utilizes fermented whole goat milk, but, unlike it, contains no flavoring. It contains 20g of protein per serving and is ideal for adding to smoothies.
Caprotein is our whole protein, just fermented. The fermentation process adds probiotic cultures, which eat up lactose and break down amino acids, making the protein partially pre-digested and more absorbable. It only comes in a vanilla flavor that is unsweetened and tastes great in smoothies or pancakes. This is our most easy-to-digest protein, containing 13g per serving.
Our Double Bonded Protein is a whole protein with two flavor options. It comes in vanilla or dark chocolate (tastes like a chocolate malt!), both sweetened with stevia. It makes a delicious, thick, and creamy protein shake when just mixed in water or a nut milk, but it is also great in smoothies. Each serving contains 20g of protein.
Deep 30 contains an array of nutrients from whole protein, Capra Mineral Whey, goat milk cream, and probiotics. The Bacillus coagulans probiotic is a great addition as it helps with protein digestion. This product is sweetened with stevia and comes in three tasty flavors: Coconut Dream (a creamy fan favorite!), Strawberry Splash, and Banana Smoothie. This protein powder is so delicious and is great just mixed with water, nut milk, or goat’s milk! Each serving contains 17g of protein.
If you are undecided on which one is right for you, try our Product Sampler. You will get a single serving packet of most of our proteins and two of our mineral products. All of this is for a reduced cost of $14.95 and free shipping!

I drank Mt Capra Whey 20 years ago and for some reason got away from it. I would like to buy your product that is most like what I drank then. But you have so many products now that I am unable to figure out which one it is. I don’t believe it was flavored. Can you please direct me?
Hi Barbara, that would be our Capra Mineral Whey, which you can find here: https://mtcapra.com/product/capra-mineral-whey-goat-milk-minerals/
It used to be named WHEX, but has changed to Capra Mineral Whey. It is the same product.
Goat milk kefir would be fantastic!!
It would be! But probably not right for us. You can make it yourself however by rehydrating our CapraMilk and mixing it with a kefir culture.
How about some Keto bars! Would love goat milk cream, not dried , didn’t mix in my coffee, liquid in container.
