Mt. Capra Blueberries and Cream is a delicious mix of blueberries and our goat milk cream, gently dried using our Refractance Window Dryer. Naturally sweet and naturally nutritious because you get the whole blueberry – seed, peel and all. The blueberries are picked and dried at the peak of freshness. Great as a smoothie booster, for use in muffins, pancakes, gummies, on top of yogurt, and so much more!
What is Blueberries and Cream all about?
It’s pretty simple, and it’s awesome. Refractance Window dried blueberries mixed with a little of our Capra Cream.
The beauty of Pacific NW Blueberries and Cream lies in the fact that, when it comes to the berries, we’ve included the whole fruit (seed, skin, pulp, etc.). When the skin and seeds are thrown away (as is often the case with other dried fruit) the majority of the nutritional potency of the berry is lost. Typically when the whole fruit is kept intact, it is difficult to dry without destroying the nutritional value. However, when dried using our gentle Refractance Window® Drying Technology the full range of phytochemicals such as polyphenols, anthocyanins, proanthocyanins, phenolic acid, and avonoids stay nutritionally bioavailable and stable even when stored for long periods of time.
During the RWD drying process, the fruit is cool enough to comfortably rest your hand upon. With product temperatures THAT low and no harsh vacuums or chemicals destroying cellular structure, fruit dried using this technology is simply superior.
And Capra Cream?
Capra Cream™ starts as fresh goat milk harvested from our happy goats on our farm in the Pacific Northwest. It is then run through a cream separator that extracts the cream from the milk using no chemicals. We dry this concentrated cream using a Refractance Window Dryer® which uses minimal heat and refracted light to provide a shelf-stable, wholesome, and delicious goat milk cream. The dried flakes are then simply added to the bottle with no further processing applied.
Goat milk cream possesses several important essential fatty acids, the most significant being Conjugated Linoleic Acid, abbreviated as CLA. CLA is well known in the health and nutrition world and has been regarded for its health benefits for decades. CLA is only found in the meat and milk of grass-fed ruminants (cows, goats, deer). Goat milk cream also contains a much higher level of medium-chain fatty acids than cow milk cream. Plus it’s far less allergenic than bovine milk / cream.
Combine the two ingredients together and you have a wholesome healthy treat that is naturally sweet, and so tasty you’ll want to eat it by the spoonful. Delicious!
