I love making simple syrups. As the name implies, they are soo simple! You can mix and match flavors, use dried herbs or fresh summer fruits to liven it up, and even add in things like vanilla extract or cinnamon to make new concoctions. I love to play with unique flavors, like the rose and cardamom used in this tea latte.

Coffee doesn't make me feel great and often gives me the jitters and messes with my blood sugar. This tea latte is delicious and the milky sweetness is soothing and satisfying. It is a great way to get in extra minerals from the easy-to-digest goat milk and provides gentle energy for the day.

Rose Cardamom Tea Latte

8-10 oz water
1 1/2 tsp loose black tea or 1 black tea bag
2 scoops whole goat milk powder
2 tsp rose water (I used this one from Cortas)
2 tsp rose simple syrup
1/8 tsp cardamom powder

Bring water to a boil. Steep the tea for 4-5 minutes. Remove tea bag and discard. Stir in milk powder, rose water, simple syrup and cardamom.

Rose Simple Syrup

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
2 heaping Tbs dried rose petals

Heat sugar and water on medium-low until sugar dissolves. Add in the rose petals and bring to a boil. Once it boils, turn off burner and place a lid on the pot. Let steep for 30 minutes, then strain. Store in a mason jar in the fridge for up to a week or so.

Notes: I haven't tried this in coffee yet, but you could try the same measurements of rose water, rose simple syrup and cardamom in brewed coffee and I bet it would still be delicious. If you want to switch it up a bit, you could brew rooibos tea and even try a bit of cinnamon.
