Blue Spirulina is a beautiful color that can add pop to your regular smoothies and smoothie bowls! It can be fun for kids and adults too. My inspiration for this smoothie bowl was from the Jamba Juice vanilla blue sky bowl.

Blue Spirulina Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1/2 – 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup thick coconut milk from a can (I use Native Forest)
  • At least 1 tsp blue spirulina, maybe up to 2 tsp for a beautiful deep blue
  • 2 scoops Clean Whole Protein
  • 2 Tbs Capra Mineral Whey
  • Ice as needed to thicken it further
Directions:

Combine all in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a bowl and top with your favorite toppings: strawberries, blueberries, coconut flakes, granola

Notes: My fruit actually wasn’t frozen, so I had to use more ice, but I suggest going easier on the ice so it isn’t as cold and easier for your stomach to digest. It would be a bit thicker with frozen fruit and you could even experiment with blending in some seeds like hemp or pumpkin to see what it does for the texture.

I only used 1 tsp blue spirulina, but I think you could definitely use 2 tsp or more to get a deeper, richer blue hue.
